Privacy

wknd is operated by Nucleus47. This is what wknd collects and why.

Your account

You sign in with your email address and a code we email you, or with Google. Google sign-in shares your email address and Google account ID with wknd. We keep your email, your username, and what you save, follow, hide, and post while signed in. We also keep the IP address and browser details of your sign-in sessions. There is no password.

Email

We email sign-in codes. If you turn on the weekly email, we send you events from the feeds you follow, and every weekly email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Messages you send through the feedback form reach the person who runs wknd by email.

Cookies and storage

A session cookie keeps you signed in. A cookie remembers how you last signed in, Google or email, for 400 days, so the sign-in page can mark it. It does not hold your email. When you pick an area or tap Use my location, a cookie remembers the region you chose, such as Baltimore, for 90 days. It never holds your location. Your browser's local storage keeps the events you hide while signed out, a comment draft, and the region the home page found for you, on this device. If you use Google to sign in from a Like, your browser keeps that Like for up to 10 minutes, so it can send it when you return. It stays in your browser.

Analytics

wknd uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and clicks. It sets its own cookies in your browser. It runs on public pages, not on sign-in pages or private links. Page fonts load from Google Fonts.

Connected assistants

You can connect an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, or an agent with an API key. It acts as you, within your account's permissions, and its provider receives what wknd returns to the tools it calls. wknd keeps a record of each connection (the app, its tokens, and your consent) until you disconnect or it expires. Disconnect ChatGPT in ChatGPT's settings, and disconnect an agent with an API key in Settings.

Who processes it

wknd runs on Cloudflare: hosting, the database, file storage, and the email that carries sign-in codes and the weekly email.

What is public

Facts that are not about a person are open data under CC BY 4.0, as the terms say: event and place facts, feeds, and listing sources. Events hold no personal information. What is tied to you stays private: what you save, follow, hide, like, attend, or note, and your account details. Your email address is never shown.

Your username and avatar show on your profile and on the feeds you keep. Comments, leaderboards, and a feed's sources page also show usernames. The feed files and source lists that make up the open data carry no usernames.

Retention

Your account data stays until you ask for deletion. Request logs are kept for about 7 days. Database backups kept for recovery are held for 30 days.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from the weekly email from any message or in Settings. Leave the leaderboards in Settings. There is no delete-account button yet; to have your account deleted, ask through the contact page.
